THE ARTIST COUNCIL
October 10 - November 8, 2014
Friday, October 10, 7:00-9:00pm
The Huntington Beach Art Center presents The Artist Council Inaugural Exhibition, an exhibition of contemporary art that will be featured in the galleries from October 10 – November 8, 2014. The exhibition is a juried show open only to members of the Artist Council, a newly formed membership program for local and regional artists. Currently in its first year, the council meets monthly to discuss topics of interest for artists of all skill levels. The group enjoys discussions and workshops that address issues of professional development, critiquing and writing skills as well as arts presentations and special trips to other art venues. Their mission is as follows: The Artist Council of the Huntington Beach Art Center (HBAC) is an organization of artists who produce, encourage and promote visual arts throughout the beach city communities and beyond. The Artist Council functions as a resource to support its members with dialogue, education, and interaction at all stages of the creative process in order to help members realize their full artistic potential. It is open to all creative pursuits addressing what it means to make art and how to share it. The council further functions to support the Huntington Beach Art Center in its goal to enrich the community through art education, exhibitions, and on-going community events.
The exhibition features 73 works from 45 artists working in a variety of media. From abstract to realism, landscapes to portraits, the works are highly imaginative and well executed. The annual exhibition is a key benefit of the Artist Council membership program.
We hope you enjoy the exhibition.
