CARLETON CHRISTY

Carleton Christy earned his MFA at Cal State Long Beach.  He lives and has a studio in Long Beach.  He also teaches drawing and printmaking at several colleges in LA and Orange counties.  He does not like the 80s much but he does have a Swatch.  Visit Carleton at carletonchristy.com.

 

ANNA MARIE FRANCESCO

Anna Marie Francesco received her MFA from Claremont Graduate University. Anna Marie’s work has been shown at Carl Berg Gallery, Millard Sheets Gallery, The Los Angeles Art Show at Barker Hangar and many others. Anna Marie was born in Upland, California.  She currently teaches art classes at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Huntington Beach Art Center.  When Anna Marie is not teaching or painting she likes to shoot pool.  Visit Anna Marie at amfineartsite.com.

 

ROBERT JACKA

Robert Jacka received his BA from Cal State Fullerton in 1983, and worked as a Graphic Artist at Norton AFB from 1983 to 1993. In 1997 he completed his teaching credential and has worked with numerous community art groups, such as the DA gallery in Pomona and the Riverside community art association in Riverside. He has been in numerous jurored shows, been included in invitationals and non-traditional art exhibits. He has work in private collections. He works mainly in assembled art and video. PATI KENT

Pati Kent has been part of the HBAC family for 14 years.  She has devoted her time at the Art Center to teaching drawing and painting to children, teens and adults.  Pati is a graduate of the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.  There she polished her skill as an illustrator and developed her talent as a fine artist.  She has exhibited her work throughout the United States and Italy.  Pati works along with her students to develop their drawing and painting skills. She has a special talent in providing insight on preparation of portfolios, which she shared with her students. She enjoys everything water, including scuba diving, swimming and playing beach volleyball. 

 

DIANA LOSCHIAVO

Diana LoSchiavo received her MFA from the State University of New York, Albany.  She also studied at the Brooklyn Museum Art School and New York University.  Throughout her illustrious career, Diana has exhibited her work nationally and internationally.  Diana has taught in Germany, Florida, and California.  She is an active member of the Huntington Beach Art League, Watercolor West, and the National Watercolor Society.  Her training in the Fine Arts has given her a high regard for all media.  She believes that all artists interpret subject matter in their own unique way, whether traditional or experimental, using their own expressive vocabulary of form, color and design.

 

 STEVEN LUSTIG


SARAH PARRA

Sarah Parra has been dancing and teaching  Flamenco for over 20 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance at UCI. She has lived and studied in Madrid, Sevilla, and Jerez de la Frontera Spain. Sarah is the founder of the non-profit organization and dance company Esencia Flamenca Dance Company. EFDC has performed at many locations throughout Southern California.  She has also taught at Cypress College and performed for many years in local Flamenco venues such as Cafe Sevilla, Tapas, and Alegria. Currently she only teaches children's classes in Huntington Beach. In addition to her numerous travels, Sarah also lived in Japan during high school.

 

COURTNEY OQUIST

 

Courtney Oquist received her MFA in Visual Art from UC Riverside in 2010 specializing in Painting and Drawing, and is currently based in Long Beach, CA.   Courtney has taught art to all ages at the Huntington Beach Art Center, the Sweeney Art Gallery in Riverside, Kim Art Studio in Cerritos and UC Riverside.  Courtney's teaching philosophy sees art as a way to express oneself that is beyond language and is a way to discover meanings about oneself as well as the world around us.  For more information about this teacher, please visit her website: www.courtneyoquist.com  

 

MELODY SEANOA


Melody is a former Polynesian entertainer for world famous Tiare Productions and now the owner of the award winning TUPUA Productions, a professional Polynesian Entertainment Company. She has been choreographing and instructing Polynesian Dance for 15 years. Melody has experienced all aspects of what it takes to teach, perform and conduct a performance.  Melody loves to ride bikes with her family and explore trails. VERONA TANG

Verona started having formal drawing, painting and crafts training when she was 13 years old.  She graduated from Cal State Fullerton as a Foreign language major and has done post graduate work in Studio Art at Cal State LA.  Verona is a certified senior instructor in Art Clay Silver, and a level 3 Japan certificate from PMC.  Currently, she teaches at several different community centers, galleries and her private studio.  Her inspirations are from the positive energy of the earth, natures, yoga practice and love.  

 

KURT WESTON

Kurt Weston earned his MFA from California State University, Fullerton.  His work has been exhibited at the Berkeley and Philadelphia Art Museums, the Kennedy Center and numerous venues nationally. In 2009, Kurt’s work was included in the CMP’s acclaimed exhibition Sight Unseen (Currently touring internationally').  His 2010 solo exhibition Seasons in the Prayer Garden garnered him the Arts Orange County annual artist achievement award.  Kurt is currently teaching at HB Art Center and Cal State Fullerton.
