Doris Dialogu believes nothing carries as much personality and elegance as the long-lasting remains of a living thing: bone.
In her work, the bone is the art. Her most common medium is wire wrapping, which provides an ornate frame to honor an object that perfectly adheres to the design principle of form following function. As such, the bone is never modified or glued to be presented within the hand-twisted metal weave; it is fully held in place with tension.
Although she formally studied fine art through drawing, painting, sculpture, and glass, she prefers working with repurposed materials. The highlight of her recent efforts of working with repurposed materials was the organization of a fashion show titled Trash-Chic.
