"Anatomy of the Heel" - JOYCIE MONTILLO
Anatomy of the Heel
7 x 8 x 1 ½ Inches
Southern California Community College Student
Orange Coast College
Entirely handmade from clay, I chose this style of constructing the skeleton of the female body to create a heel. With the ribcage being the toebox. The pelvic creating the counter. The lower back of the spine becomes the heel. As a first generation Latina college student, I find it incredibly difficult to navigate the world outside. This represents my feelings of being fragile as I didn't grow up with a silver plate, being my stepping stone. But yet as its still standing signifying, as I am determined to strive for my past and future generations ahead of me. Rompiendo el Ciclo
