While an undergraduate pottery student at Central School of Art and Design, London, Norris’ class took a fieldtrip to the Tate Gallery to see an exhibition of works from their permanent collection. This trip exposed the artists to the ‘outrageous’ (his assessment at the time) works of Ad Reinhardt and Piero Manzoni. This experience, though jolting then, later became part of the motivation for this series of work with eggshells.
Trevor Norris began exhibiting in 1979 in various group exhibitions around Southern California, including Barnsdall Art Park, LAX814, The Jan Baum Gallery, and more. He has had numerous one-person shows with Jan Baum Gallery L.A. CA, and more recently with Vita Art Center, Ventura, CA. Norris currently has works with Wallspace Gallery L.A. Wallspace sells works, but mostly lends works to advertising, film and television projects.
