The Huntington Beach Art Center presents one of the largest community exhibitions of the year in January 2020. For over 20 years Centered on the Center has promoted the Art Center’s mission of developing an awareness, understanding, and appreciation for the arts.
This annual open-call, non-juried, salon-style group exhibition features approximately 200 artists and over 400 works in a variety of mediums. Local, regional, and national artists are invited to participate. Original artwork will be accepted until the galleries are filled. Submissions are limited to two pieces per artist. CALL FOR ARTISTS
Fees: $20 for one piece | $30 for two pieces
Participation is open to any living artist 18 years of age and older. All entries must be original works of art completed in the last two years (2018 – present). Work submitted may not have been displayed at the Huntington Beach Art Center in any prior exhibition.
2D WORK must be ready to hang with installed picture wire (artwork without installed wire will not be accepted). Works may not exceed 84" in either direction (including frame), and may not exceed 50 pounds in weight.
3D WORK displayed on a pedestal may not exceed 48" in any direction. Freestanding 3D work may not exceed 72" in height, 48" in width, or 48" in depth. Freestanding work must sit safely on the floor.
VIDEO artists may submit one video work in DVD format and no longer than 15 minutes. Do not submit a Master, only a Dub, as DVDs will not be replaced by HBAC. Artists must create a loop to facilitate a continuous screening.
HBAC reserves the right to refuse any artwork. Loaned artworks must be exhibited for the entire duration of the show. Artwork made available for sale during the exhibition is subject to a 40/60 commission split with 60% of the sale price paid to the artist. All proceeds to help defray the cost of installation and marketing of the exhibition. We accept cash, credit card (Visa, MasterCard, and Discover) or check payable to the City of Huntington Beach.
