CALL FOR ARTISTS
This annual open-call, non-juried, salon-style group exhibition features approximately 125 artists and 250 works in a variety of mediums. Local, regional, and national artists are invited to participate.
Centered on the Center 2021 will be installed in the HBAC galleries*, documented onsite, and also presented virtually on the Art Center’s website.

$20 for one artwork
$30 for two artworks
The participation fee is to help defray the cost of installation and publicizing the exhibition. We accept cash, credit card (Visa, MasterCard, and Discover) or check payable to the City of Huntington Beach.
SUBMISSIONS LIMITED TO TWO PIECES MAXIMUM PER ARTIST
Participation is open to any living artist 18 years of age and older. All entries must be original works of art no more than two years old (2019 – present). No work made prior to 2019 will be accepted. Work submitted must not have been exhibited at the Huntington Beach Art Center in any prior exhibition.
Absolutely NO reproductions will be accepted. Original photographs printed on canvas are acceptable. No seasonal crafts. No tables or drapings. Artwork may not include live animals or decaying organic material. HBAC reserves the right to refuse work that it deems unsuitable for a general audience.
Works must be exhibited for the entire duration of the show. No exceptions will be made to take down a work before the exhibition end date. Works purchased must remain for the entire duration of the exhibition and can be picked up by the buyer after the show has closed.
Works are not guaranteed to be hung together. (There is no guarantee that diptychs and triptychs that are not attached will be placed together). There will be no negotiation between the artist and HBAC to place the works in a specific place or lit in a certain way. The Preparator will make all decisions as to placement and lighting which will be best for the entire exhibition.
2D work must be ready to hang with installed picture wire (artwork without installed wire will not be accepted). Works may not exceed 84” in either direction (including frame), and may not exceed 50 pounds in weight.
3D work displayed on a pedestal may not exceed 48’’ in any direction. Freestanding 3D work may not exceed 72’’ in height, 48’’ in width, or 48’’ in depth. Freestanding work must sit safely on the floor.
VIDEO artists may submit one video work in DVD format and no longer than 15 minutes. Do not submit a Master, only a Dub, as DVDs will not be replaced by HBAC. Artists must create a loop to facilitate a continuous screening. A digital streaming link must be provided for inclusion in the virtual exhibition and may be emailed to: Kathleen.Fenstermaker@surfcity-hb.org.

DELIVERY OF WORK
ARTWORK WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR 125 ARTISTS MAXIMUM
Artwork must be delivered by the artist. Mailed or late work will not be accepted. Be prepared with information about your work to fill out a Loan Agreement at time of delivery. The information required is the same as the labels on this form. These labels must be attached to artwork on the front and back of the piece at time of delivery, and must include artist name, address, phone, title, year, media, dimensions (including frame), and price.
