2021 Judith Hendler
Design Competition

in partnership with the Huntington Beach Art Center
The Cocoon Cloak
On View: May 1 - June 12, 2021
Opening Reception: May 1st | 12-5pm
Closing Celebration: June 12 | 1-3pm

In a desire to find sanctuary and comfort in a time of turmoil, jewelry designer Judith Hendler, invites Southern California Community College students and Huntington Beach Art Center Members to create the unisex Cocoon Cloak. Answering the base needs of self-expression and protection from the elements on the human form, the competition is inspired by traditional multi-functional garments like the Caftan, Tunic, and Poncho.
