The Huntington Beach Art Center presents Meet the Masters of the Huntington Beach Art League, an exhibition of the works of 23 artists who are members of the Art League’s Masters Group. To become a Master, these artists have earned points by exhibiting art work that has received a First Place, or Best of Show award at the League’s monthly meetings. Several members of the Masters Group have gained recognition in regional art circles as well as internationally.
The artists featured in the exhibition are painters working in a variety of media. The exhibition includes 94 works created in oils, acrylics and watercolors, with subject matter that includes portraits, landscapes, images of historic Huntington Beach as well as abstracts, western themed art and quirky, fun and funky topics that will delight the viewer.
The exhibition is co-curated by Diana Lo Schiavo, Jan McKinnon, Jackie Dvorman and Eileen McCullough, all of whom have achieved Masters status and are recognized artists. The Huntington Beach Art League was founded in 1962 by a group of artists as a community organization supporting the arts and artists through art education and exhibitions. The purpose of the League is to stimulate creative activity, interest and enjoyment of art.
